Landscape
installation is both art and science. Proper installation is crucial
for a plant's overall health and longevity. Landscape plants need
to be handled with care from the moment they are balled and burlapped
in the nursery to the time they are installed. Care during transporting
is critical. When planting, holes must be prepared at the proper
width and depth. Soil structure needs to be preserved by handling
backfill it as little as possible without compacting it with your
feet. Care must be taken to preserve the structural integrity of
the root ball. Root balls will get damaged by trying to face and
turn plants when they are in their planting hole, or by dropping
them off trucks.
Wire
baskets should be removed and excess burlap should be cut away before
backfilling. Plants need to be properly watered in while preserving
soil structure. A three inch layer of mulch around the plants is
required. Amending soil with biostimulants should be done with a
root feeding needle after complete installation. At tree health
management we take great pride in our installation methods. We are
well aware that proper installation takes more time. Installing
plants the right way allows us to offer a two year guarantee.
